History

Local Coffee Shop began it's journey under a different name in May of 2023. Originally the Patreon Discord server for a popular YouTuber, the community eventually grew into something neither the members, nor the YouTuber expected.

After a long period of transition in which the community was exclusively member led, the server finally parted ways with the YouTuber in December of 2024. Since the growth and survival of the server relied upon word of mouth and the occasional influx of YouTube followers, LCS needed new means of bringing in new life.

Eventually, LCS partnered with the YouTube Video Essayists Schnee, The S.E.A., FivexFive Takes, as well as other small creators. This Affiliate centered model has allowed the community to continue to grow into what it is today, and what it will be in the future.

The Team Behind It All

Local Coffee Shop began its life being community led, and continues to be community led. Our leaders started out just like everyone else; They were regular members hanging out, writing stories, trading ideas, and building friendships.

Over time, each of them stepped up out of genuine care for the community, taking on specific roles that keep this place running smoothly. They share equal authority, but each brings their own strengths to the table, whether that’s behind the scenes development, enforcing our standards of behavior, or keeping the vibe safe and welcoming.

This server is what it is because of their dedication, their time, and their love for the space we’ve created together. They’re not above the community. They are a part of it. They just choose to carry the extra weight so everyone else can enjoy being here.
